Soo big..

The girls turned 18 months last Tuesday. We all had colds and were miserable so I didn't even realize it until the day was almost over. They went to nursery for the first time together on Sunday. They had both "visited" before but not at the same time. They were fine. Ken and I walked them in and walked out. The nursery person was worried about telling them apart but we tried to point out their differences but I don't know if she had the right girl with the right name or not. I will have to dress them differently next week- I hadn't thought about that. I waited outside the door thinking one of them might care that it shut with us on the other side but they didn't. The only tears came when they brought Makenna for a diaper change and she wanted a treat out of the diaper bag that I wouldn't let her have. Once I took her back to nursery and distracted her she was fine. I hope it goes as smoothly every week.

And thanks to Grandpa Ted for finding the dress for Olivia.

Beep! Beep!

My parents got the girls these cute cars for Christmas and they love them. They cry to go outside every morning. It's been cold the last couple days so we haven't gone out and they get so mad. They kept my dad busy out there pushing them the last few days he was here.We waited to put them together until the weather was better ans so they wouldn't be overwhelmed with new things. They haven't figured out how to go forward but can go in reverse on their own. At least I'll get a work out pushing them around for awhile.

Happy New Year!!!

We had a impromptu New Years eve party. It is a Thompson tradition to have frappe (sherbet and sprite) at midnight and when I went to the store I picked up on of those bags w/ hats. blowers , etc.. I didn't notice that it had confetti but Olivia did she immediately tore into it.
My parents were still visiting and we watched the east coast celebrate on Fox news. I let the girls stay up and have frappe. It was so fun to see them react. They liked blowers and confetti. Olivia would try to blow it but would just make the noise with her mouth. Makenna liked gathering the confetti and putting it in her train. Olivia eventually wore a hat but Makenna was determined not to.

Christmas Morning

The girls enjoyed Christmas morning. Santa brought them a kitchen which they both loved. Makenna kept "ohhing" every minute or so. She was so excited to see all the drawers and doors. Olivia liked carrying the food around. Olivia also liked opening the presents. Makenna was just happy to see what was inside. We were so happy to have grandma and grandpa Thompson here with us. Makenna put grandpa in charge of holding all the "babies". He wasn't allowed to put them down for most of the day. We were grateful that several people bought the girls gifts just because. It was a great day and I will remember it forever.

Joe's Wedding

Ken's Brother Joe got married last weekend. It was a really nice receprion. I didn't take pictures since I was busy chasing my 2 girls. Here is a family picture that was taken. Ken's mom made the cute dresses.Introducing Joe and Ellen Peeples.

And here are some pictures Ken's other brother Craig took of the girls and us. I just wanted to rub in the nice sunny weather. Although it has been cold and rainy the last few days but I don't want to trade for snow so I won't complain to much.

Knotts Berry Farm

We took the girls to Knotts Berry Farm the second week in December. Ken's parents were here and were able to go with us.We had a lot of fun. One of our first stops was to see Santa. I had hoped to get their picture there since Ken had gotten it done there last year. The girls did not like that idea.

We rode a few rides. Ken and his dad rode the Xcelerator. I was too chicken. The girls did really well considering they had no nap. They loved the Charlie Brown Christmas show but wanted nothing to do with Snoopy ( He was dressed as Santa). Makenna actually ran away from him and was looking over her shoulder to make sure he wasn't following her.

Of course our Favorite part was Mrs. Knotts Chicken dinner. It was so good. The girls (and there daddy) love the rhubarb. Thanks Grammy and Papa for the fund day!!!
We also stayed 2 nights at our timeshare in Anaheim and enjoyed it. The girls like all the space.

It's almost Christmas!

This year has flown by especially the last few months. These girls keep us busy.
here are just a few pics. You may notice when you get your Christmas Cards (yes they are coming) that our picture is a few months old. Here is why...

Geting the two of them to smile and sit still in a picture is nearly impossible. Maybe next year.
I hope everyone is enjoying the season. We are so thankful for our blessing and friends and family. It is going to be a wonderful holiday.
